Pine Forge Academy Choir Joins Grammy Winner Adams for Morning of Praise

WASHINGTON, /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation(CBCF) announced today that Grammy Award winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams and The Pine Forge Academy Choir of Pine Forge, Pennsylvaniawill perform at the 39th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) during thePrayer Breakfast. The ALC Prayer Breakfast is scheduled from 7-10 a.m., on Saturday, September 26th on the final day of the ALC. Previous artists featured at the ALC Prayer breakfast include award winning gospel singers Maurette Brown Clark, Byron Cage, and Tramaine Hawkins.

U.S. Reps. Chaka Fattah of Pennsylvania and Yvette D. Clarke of New York will serve as honorary co-chairs of the 39th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), from September 23-26at the Walter E. Ms. Adams was the recipient of a Grammy Award in 2000 for her platinum album Mountain High...Valley Low.Since experiencing tremendous success with this album, Ms. Adams wenton to further produce inspiring gospel music that has continued toreach the top of the U.S. music charts. Most recently she has startedher own radio show, Yolanda Adams In The Morning, which airs on urban gospel stations around the country.

The Pine Forge Academy Choir consists of dedicated young men andwomen from ages 13 through 18. The Choir is noted for its full, richand harmonious quality, proclaim God's goodness through spirituals,anthems, gospel, and classical. The choir is touring the United States under the direction of Neil Thomas, musical director.

Headlining ALC will once again be the 42 members of theCongressional Black Caucus (CBC) who will lead forums on education,health care, the environment, economic development, criminal justice,housing, transportation and international affairs. ALC is expected todraw nearly 18,000 officials, business and industry leaders,celebrities, media, emerging leaders and everyday Americans. Theconference includes an awards dinner, exhibits showcase, book signingsand networking opportunities.
