Don Cheadle Gets Family's Blessing to Play Miles Davis in Upcoming Biopic

CHEADLE GETS FAMILY'S BLESSING TO PLAY MILES DAVIS



MILES DAVIS' nephew has confirmed reports DON CHEADLE will play the jazz legend in a new biopic. Vince Wilburn, Jr. reveals Cheadle will also direct the film and Herbie Hancock will score the project. Davis 'relative is working with the Kind of Blue star's son Erin to bring the project to the big screen after a bust-up with a former screenwriter.

Wilburn,Jr. says, "Don didn't like the other writer that was attached to the movie, so there's a new writer named Steven Vegelman that Don's writing with. Once is the script is OK'd by the family, then we go into production."

    I actually thought Wesley Snipes was going to play the role. Wesley has shown some skills in jazz from Spike Lee's 'Mo Betta Blues' with Denzel Washington. Spike Lee would do justice to Miles Davis.
