Guru of Jazzmatazz Fame & Hip-Hop Group Gang Starr dies...
According to reports now spreading throughout cyberspace, Hip Hop Icon of group Gang Starr & Jazzmatazz Series Founder Guru has passed away due to complications to Cancer.
Guru's Jazzmatazz volumes spoke volumes on the way he was able to incorporate the sounds of Rap Music with the ideology of Jazz Music. Many of those albums featured some of the biggest names in the Jazz industry including David Sanborn, Bob James, Donald Byrd, Roy Ayers, Ramsey Lewis, Branford Marsalis...just to name a few. It has been noted that Guru had battled Cancer. His contributions to music will be cherished. The T.U.M.S. Family sends out our Prayers to his family & loved ones.
