The Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, held at the University of Idaho since 1967, brings together some of he greatest names in jazz.Over the years the greatest names in jazz have appeared at the Festival,including Ella Fitzgerald, Gerry Mulligan, Sarah Vaughan, Stan Get, Wynton Marsalis, Elvin Jones and Dizzy Gillespie
This collection from the 1997 Festival includes performances by Lionel Hampton and his big band, along with Diana Krall, Lou Rawls, and Diane Reeves, plus legendary players Pete and Conte Candoli, Randy Brecker, Bill Watrousand more, backed by a swinging house band featuring Hank Jones and Herb Ellis.
