Not Alone Foundation Honors Jimi Hendrix

The Not Alone Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, is dedicated to providing financial assistance and educational and medical resources for chronic kidney disease (CKD ) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients and their families. This past weekend, the Foundation presented its Diamond Award to honor individuals in the entertainment and business worlds who, through their perseverance and success, a have left a footprint on their industries.  One of those so honored was Jimi Hendrix whose sister Janie Hendrix was on hand to accept the award on behalf of her late brother.

Pictured at the event are recording artist and Diamond Award presenter Trina, Janie Hendrix and Claytin Hendrix-Wright, Janie's son.

In accepting the award, Janie Hendrix commented about her brother, "He left an indelible mark on humanity.  I feel it is only fitting that the recognition being given him today be symbolized by the diamond, which is also forever. It is the heartfelt desire of our family and our company, Experience Hendrix, to continue the legacy and make Jimi’s creative work a permanent fixture in the world.  This award helps us to fulfill that goal."
