Kat Rodriguez (aka Kat) is a beautiful and multitalented artist with true musicianship in her heart. An incredible saxophonist, singer, songwriter, arranger, and composer.
Kat has perform with Youthful Praise, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Slim thug, George Michaels, The Roots as well as many others. She has also recorded and or arranged for and with Destiny’s Child, DJ Mark Ronson, Mobb Deep, PJ Morton, Kierra Sheard, 50 Cent, Trumpeter/Producer Keyon Harrold and KeyKat Productions, to name a few.
In 2006, Beyonce Knowles held auditions for an all female band. Kat was one of 1000 girls who auditioned and was hand picked by Beyonce herself. Kat put to the side her dream and passion of becoming a artist in her own right as a singer for the opportunity of a lifetime, to become Beyonce's saxophonist.
Kat has recorded The Beyonce Experience tour DVD (with a featured solo on the song "Baby Boy"), and the I...Am Tour DVD (with a featured solo on the song "Crazy in Love"), plus numerous TV appearances which include: Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Today Show, Good Morning America, Tyra Banks, Bet Awards, American Music Awards, Fashion Rocks, Grammy's, and the World Music Awards.
Touring with Beyonce inspired Kat. “When I was younger, I would always pretend to sing in front of the mirror with a brush. Yes, it sounds very cliché, but I did. I've been fortunate enough to travel the world and share the stage with Beyonce. Now that I’ve seen the masses chant her songs, my heart yearns, even more now, to follow my childhood dream” says Kat, and that’s exactly what she is doing.
Kat is currently working hard on her debut album. With her musical background and extensive performance experience, she blends talent and drive to create the phenomenon that is Kat Rodriguez.
