R&B Vocalist OYA Releases NEW MUSIC VIDEO | "Peace In The Valley"

Indie Artist OYA, Releases 2nd Single
"Peace In The Valley"
With New Music Video

September 25, 2013-LOS ANGELES, CA - Independent music artist OYA, has released her second single PEACE IN THE VALLEY, from her debut CD, SPIRIT OF OYA, accompanied by a MUSIC VIDEO, for the classic gospel rendition.

PEACE IN THE VALLEY, featuring acclaimed gospel pianist Kenneth Crouch, of the famous Crouch Family, was written for Mahalia Jackson, one of Oya's favorite gospel artist, in 1937 by Thomas A. Dorsey. Since then, it has been recorded by several great artists such as Elvis Presley, Randy Travis, Sam Cooke and Red Foley and the Sunshine Boys. Oya, a soulful R&B/Gospel artist has added her name to this dynamic list of musicians.

Oya's collaboration with Kenneth Crouch, was recorded in one take, which proved the undeniable gospel musical connection between the two artists. "The one take recording, the dance of my fingers and the voice of Oya, sounds like chemistry that has been rooted since the beginning of time." says Crouch

PEACE IN THE VALLEY, has a deep rooted connection for the songstress. The song was first introduced to her as a child as her great-grandmothers all time favorite gospel record. Oya's recording is in celebration of the matriarch of her family, by honoring her roots and upbringing in gospel music. Oya says, "It was imperative that I record a song that honors GOD and the most important quality in the world...Peace."

Oya captures the essence of PEACE IN THE VALLEY's message visually with her MUSIC VIDEO. In it, she is alone with a beautiful horse in a meditated valley surrounded by mountains. The valley symbolizes a difficult time in life when things aren't going too well, the song represents that GOD IS "Peace in the Valley". The mountains have a logical religious symbolism since they are “closer to God," who dwells in the heavens. And the horse represents the freedom which is given when peace is found in oneself. "Our journey to peace is connected to our spirit and once you find it, everything else grows." says Oya.
